Why this build
- Spotting is still the fastest way to level Recon, even though it pays about 30% less in Season 2. It now scales with the value of the target: vehicles, buildables and crates are worth spotting.
- The range finder tells you the distance; zeroing goes in 100 m steps, so you know exactly where to hold.
- The SKS takes the SKS Bipod (Recon 7) and its own DTK-1 Brake (Recon 9). Its iron sights are enough for spotting work; the 6-10x Scope MOA arrives at Recon 19.
- Season 2 cut DMR damage, so treat the SKS as a tool to finish what you spotted, not as a sniper rifle. The bolt-action rifles got more hit-location damage.
- No armour on purpose: light means fast relocations. Add Level 1 armour if you play close to the zone.
How to play it
Find concealment with a view of the hot zone (bushes and ridges, not obvious rooftops), spot everything and shoot only when it helps your team. Move after a few shots. Rain shortens spotting range; thunder masks your steps when you relocate. The Ghillie Headwear and Ghillie Suit unlock at Recon 26 ($2,500 + $3,000).
